The George Hotel is a 17th Century town-house enjoying a wonderful location nestling on the water’s edge between the castle and pier in the bustling harbour town of Yarmouth.without bunker

This magnificent building is steeped in history and was once home to the most noteworthy of the Island’s Governors, Sir Robert Holmes who often entertained King Charles II.

Today the country house interior with its sweeping staircase, ancient panelling, uneven floors and stone flags is complemented by smart contemporary flourishes.

The 17 bedrooms are individually designed, many with spectacular views of the Solent or the vibrant harbour.

There is a choice of two restaurants, whichever you choose you will not be disappointed.

The Conservatory is a family friendly brasserie style restaurant with a light airy interior and uninterrupted views of the Solent. The food here is fabulously unfussy and dishes are created and cooked from the wonderful natural island larder. While away a few hours under an umbrella watching the sail boats zip past or dine by the seawall looking out across the small shingle beach and the sea beyond.

Winter Warmer Lunch offer – £18.00 for 2 courses.

Running from 1st November 2015 to 24 March 2016 –  Monday to Friday.

Excluding 24th & 25th December and 7th to 19th January.

Isla’s Restaurant, those wanting a finer dining experience choose to dine in Isla’s. The décor is soft and soothing and the shades of white provide a light modern backdrop. The focus is on fresh seasonal produce of the highest quality and menus are colourful, inventive and full of flavour. This elegant sophisticated restaurant is reassuringly traditional without any of the stuffiness.
